Chartreuse has a very strong characteristic taste. It is very sweet, but becomes both spicy and pungent. It is comparable to other herbal liqueurs such as Galliano, Liquore Strega or KrŠuterlikšr, though it is distinctively more vegetal, or herbaceous.
